What is the process for ordering invitations with Invites by Jen?

Step 1: Purchase the quantity of invitations and enclosures needed (please contact me for an invoice).

Step 2: Submit all necessary wording and any additional customizations necessary for your invitations.
Included in the price of the invitations is the ability to customize any of the colors and fonts shown on the design.
Additional fees may apply to your order for additional customized design changes
(please contact me with desired changes for a quote).

Step 3: After I have received your order (with cleared payment) and all necessary information to complete your invitation, I will begin working on your proofs.
Your initial proofs will include a picture of an actual, printed, and assembled invitation.
After you have reviewed your initial proofs, please submit any changes necessary for an update on your proofs (updated proofs may be sent in PDF form if only changes required are wording related).
Included in the cost of the invitations is a total of three rounds of proofs (the initial proofs plus two additional proofs, if needed).

Step 4: Email me stating you approve all wording, color, fonts, and layouts shown on your proofs (ie, submit your final approval).

Step 5: I will begin production as soon as I receive your final approval.
Please note that since my products are personalized, returns are generally not accepted.

Your invitation order will ship out, or be ready for pick-up at my studio in Beaver Dam, WI, approximately 15 business days after I have received your final approval notification (this date will be dependent upon available order completion dates, but of which will be agreed upon prior to your placing an order).
Business days are Monday-Friday, excluding weekends and holidays.
During the busy invitation wedding season, please allow your full timeline for your order to ship out.
Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail which has an estimated shipping time of 3-5 mailing days.

How many invitations should I order?
I recommend ordering at least 20 extra invitations.
Guest lists often change at the last minute and its best to be prepared.
Ordering extra invitations at a later date can be costly.
Remember each couple (or family) should only receive one invitation ensemble.
Proper etiquette says a single invitee should be allowed to bring a guest.

When should I order my wedding invitations?
I recommend ordering your invitations at least 6 months prior to your wedding date.

I need my invitations before your next available order completion date. Do you offer rush ordering?
As long as I have the availability to complete your order, I do offer rush ordering.
Any orders needed within 8 weeks or less may be subject to rush fees, regardless of current order availability.

When should I send out the invitations?
Invitations are commonly sent out 6-8 weeks in advance of your special event.
I recommend that during the summer or holiday months, you give enough
advance notice to your guests to schedule their vacations around your day.
It is common practice to send out Save the Date announcements (typically 9-12 months prior to the event) if your wedding will be during busy months.

What types of payment do you accept?
The preferred methods of payment are credit card and Paypal.


Should I order a sample?
If you plan on customizing the colors of your invitation (other than what is shown in the listing), and you are unable to come to my studio in Beaver Dam to view options in person, I recommend purchasing one of my sample packages.  This way you have the color and font swatches at your fingertips and can see the quality of my work before committing to an order!

Will I be credited for the cost of my sample?
Yes, your account will be credited for the cost of one sample package purchased (as long as it is returned) if you order your wedding invitations through Invites by Jen.

How long does it take to receive a sample?
I usually send samples out 5 business days after I receive your request and payment.

Can I order my invitations without buying a sample?
Yes!  If you would like to bypass the time necessary to receive a sample first, simply purchase your invitation order at your convenience.


Can I use my own envelopes?
Yes, but I recommend that you order them prior to finalizing your invitation design.
This is to ensure that your invitations will fit inside the envelopes.

Do you offer address printing on the envelopes?
Yes! Customized return address printing on both the invitation and response card envelopes are included as a free service when ordering your invitation sets.
Invitee addressing (guest addressing) is available for an additional charge.


Will my invitations arrive fully assembled?
Unless you choose a DIY (do-it-yourself) option, yes! Your invitations will arrive ready for postage (you will need to add postage to the response card envelope and outer envelope), “stuffed” into the envelopes, and mailed.

I love your work but I don’t see exactly what I want. Can you create a design for me?
Of course! I do offer custom design services.
We can work together to turn your vision into reality!
The final cost of your customized invitation set will depend on materials, size, shape, and layout of your preferred design.
With a completely custom design, you will also be assessed a custom design fee on your order.

How much postage will my invitation require?
It is always recommended that you take an invitation to the post office to have them weighed and sized for postage, but generally an invitation postage stamp will do.
Don’t forget to purchase response card postage!
Square shaped invitations always require extra postage.
Invites by Jen does recommend all handmade wedding invitations be hand cancelled.  Contact your local post office for additional details.


How do you ship the invitations?
I carefully package the invitations to ensure their safe arrival using Priority Mail (3-5 day shipping via USPS).
You are responsible for the cost of shipping.
Please be aware that shipping can cost anywhere from $30-$60 on an invitation order.
Expedited shipping is available and will add to the total cost of shipping.


Will you proofread for me?
Unfortunately, no. The text and wording that you send will be inserted directly into your personalized stationery.
As a result, I cannot be held responsible for any misspellings or typographical errors.
Please check all spellings for errors prior to submitting wording.
I highly recommend that you have others proofread your wording as well and have others review the proofs that I submit to you for approval.
